Specialist support for the VANA Trust

The VANA Trust was founded by Nyasha Gwatidzo in 2000 and was registered as a charity in the U.K. in July 2004. The charity was established in order to advance good health and education for children and young adults in Africa and the UK. It operates:

• St David’s School, Zimbabwe which at present sponsors tuition fees and school uniforms for 150 children who are either orphans, affected by HIV/AIDS or poverty at St David’s primary school. Also, Vana Trust’s daily Breakfast Club provides a warm, nutritional meal to all children at the school.

• Vana Trust Organic Therapeutic Farm, Buckinghamshire, an eco-friendly eight-acre therapeutic farm with the aim of unlocking the potential of children and young adults with special needs, behavioural and emotional problems within the tranquillity of a therapeutic organic farm. The farm opened in September 2009.

North harbour Consulting has been appointed under a grant from New Futures Buckinghamshire to provide advice on rationalisation of the trust’s governance, management and funding.

New Futures Buckinghamshire provides support and development opportunities for the county’s Voluntary and Community Sector and Parish Councils.
