Options for the delivery of shared back office services

We are currently in the process of completing a commission for a partnership of South London councils of voluntary service to identify business models that the partnership might consider adopting for the shared delivery of back office services and bulk purchase of goods. Based on the experience of organisations in other parts of the country, the study is evaluating the impact and effectiveness of these models, their operational and financial viability, the resource implications for the provider organisation, affordability for customers, and their relevance to South London. The aim is to increase the efficiency and reduce the costs of providing services to front line groups, as well as to reduce the cost of front line service delivery. The report will be published later in 2013.
